It doesn't have to be that draconian....
But for goodness' sake, would it kill the parents to watch over
their kids for a few minutes?!?! They were running around the
platform and creating havoc. There's only so much that I can do to
control the crowd on the platform on a busy public holiday!!!
Heck, according to the CCTV analysis later on, my supervisor told
me that another kid (belonging to the same tour group) was fiddling
with the platform door controls at the same time the first kid
pressed the emergency stop button. If that second kid had succeeded
in activating the controls, chances are that several passengers
would have fallen off the platform.
